The
dimensions of the plug approved in Brazil are identical with those of
the two-pole plug for Class II apparatus known in Europe. Even the pin
diameter of 4.8 mm is absolutely identical. The only difference is that
the plug has been approved for Brazil by Inmetro. Years ago, several
different plug systems were used in these countries, e.g. the UL/CSA
plug system. Meanwhile, Brazilian authorities demand a Brazilian symbol.
For voltages between 2.5 and 10 A, the plug shown on page 29 may be used instead.
The lead types and cross-sections comply with the HAR regulations.
